# Introduction

### What is KRC-20?

**KRC-20** **(Kasplex RWA Chain)** is a decentralized, comprehensive digital-asset infrastructure.

Originating from the Kaspa ecosystem, as a Layer-2 asset chain, it is designed to provide the blockchain world with a safer, more reliable, high-performance, and highly scalable mechanism for asset issuance, management, and trading. Leveraging an advanced **Kaspa-Based RTD-Rollup architecture**, KRC-20 enables a broad range of on-chain asset protocols, combining the benefits of **decentralization**, **robust security**, **high throughput**, and **MEV resistance**.

In addition to supporting multiple asset issuance models, KRC-20 integrates efficient asset trading and bridging protocols, empowering developers and enterprises to rapidly build diverse financial and circulation use cases and to inject new momentum into the digital economy.
